A Power Couple
Content corporation Accenture has teamed up with German-based Mackevision, the Emmy award-winning creative team behind Game of Thrones’ most stunningly gorgeous visual effects, to elevate their extended reality 3D visual and animation capabilities. This acquisition opens up new doors for Accenture’s visually enhanced AR and VR campaigns and gives clients a new way to advertise.
Accenture, a leading global professional services corporation, are at the forefront of the AR/VR revolution and have recently created the Accenture Extended Reality (XR) practice; a new solution that gives clients a chance to elevate their content strategies with AR, VR, and other new immersive technologies. By teaming up with Mackevision and leveraging their ‘digital twins’ technology, Accenture will accelerate the capabilities of their XR practice and set a new standard for what is possible in the AR/VR services market.
According to Mackevision CEO Armin Pohl,
“With our more than 20 years’ experience in 3D visualization, our visionary technology and our efficient Single-Source Publishing (SSP) approach, we create relevant, inspiring product and brand experiences with lasting impact. We have moved from being a content provider to providing relevant end-to-end solutions for our clients, and we’re looking forward to collaborating on creating meaningful client experiences on a global scale under Accenture Interactive”
The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed. Accenture has the full report.
Visual Immersion Meets Marketing
The lines between reality and extended reality are blurring more and more every day and brands all over the world have started prioritizing visual immersion over traditional forms of media to keep up with high consumer expectations. Just last month, Ikea, with the help of tech agency Wavemaker, created a unique virtual reality experience for guests shopping at one of their Dallas stores.
Together, Accenture and Mackevision will keep blurring the lines between reality and extended reality to give consumers radical new ways to experience branded content.
Installations like Ikea’s VR experience are going to keep popping up as the tech becomes more accessible. There’s no doubt that AR and VR is trendy but it’s more than just a fleeting novelty. As the technology continues to evolve and build on itself, the consumer demand for VR and AR headsets, apps, and experiences will rise and the marriage of content marketing and VR won’t be reserved for corporate elites.
More on Mackevision
For 20 years, the creative minds at Mackevision have transported viewers to fictional kingdoms and castles that merge seamlessly with real places and people, created mind blowing car commercials, and brought dragons to life.
Mackevision’s ability to create new worlds and develop visually striking ads centers on their ability to leverage engineering data to create ‘digital twins’ of physical products. This tech allows Mackevision to create almost any kind of visual content – successfully turning data into experiences. Accenture plans on leveraging this technology to expand their services and solutions.
From start to finish, Mackevision supervises the entire CGI process and delivers on their promise to bring their client’s imaginations to life.
They provide CGI consulting, CGI production, visualization data management, and visual effects solutions and offer high-end 3D products like Motionbox and the Picture Shooter studio.
Along with Game of Thrones, Mackevision has been entrusted by auto companies like Audi, BMW, Porsche, Hyundai, and Jaguar to create mind-bogglingly realistic CGI car commercials that show off their vehicles in ways practical effects can’t.
Mackevision is based out of Stuttgart Germany and they have offices in Munich, the United States, United Kingdom, China, South Korea, and Japan. They have a team of over 500 talented creatives who continue to solidify Mackevision’s place in the visual effects industry.
